Thursdays at the club
The women’s section now meets every Thursday evening. The format is deliberately mixed: an hour of structured training, then open play at the clock.
Beginners are welcome. So are members who have played for years and want a regular game against familiar opponents.
Why a separate evening
Several members told us the same thing — the barrier was never the chess, it was walking into a full room alone on a busy club night. A fixed evening with a known group removes that, and most players end up on the main club nights within a season.
